In the Afghan mountains, young shepherds obey the rules: watch over the flock and avoid mixing with the opposite sex. But carefree behaviour is never far away; while the boys run around and practise usingtheir slingshots to ward off wolves, the girls smoke in secret, play at marriage, and tease little Sediqa, who is considered cursed. The legends told by their elders blend into their lives and shed light on the mysteries of their protected world – but for how long can this last?
