In Ethiopia, the blacksmiths of Harar are rumoured to transform into hyenas, roaming the old town. This film is a visual poem set against the backdrop of Harar’s eerie nocturnal beauty and its passion for khat, immersing us in the work of the socially marginalised Ethiopian blacksmiths. At night, behind the transformation of bodies at work and the possible metamorphosis of blacksmiths into hyenas, reality is shaken.
