Naru, a camera operator for Kabul television, wants to divorce her unfaithful husband and is fighting for custody of their young son despite Afghan laws preventing her from doing so. It is then that she meets the TV star journalist Quodrat, who is 20 years her senior, married and with children. They soon fall in love with each other. But the rise to power of the Taliban in Kabul is imminent.
